Missions

Ken Builds A Porch
"He told them, 'The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.'" (Luke 10:2)

Missions is one of the cornerstones of Mt. Hope Church - as it should be every Christian church in the world! The charge by God to go out, serve others and preach His word is not one we can ignore. Mt. Hope engages in many missions activities because of this.

Missionary Support

Through the guidance of the missions committee, Mt. Hope supplies 21 missionaries across the world with financial and spiritual support.

Local Mission Projects

From adults volunteering in soup kitchens to teens raking lawns for others to a city-wide Harvest Festival, Mt. Hope has a long tradition of serving the community out of love. One of our yearly events is the Livonia Crop Walk, wherein Mt. Hope members raise pledges to walk and send food to the hungry in other nations.

Mission Trips

Mission trips are exciting experiences that help to train the mind and body to serve others the way that Jesus taught us. Yearly, the Firm Faith teens go to a different town for a week of Group Workcamps, where they split up into teams to work on repairing houses for the ill, elderly or less fortunate. Another mission trip that the church regularly takes is to Mexico, where we support Mission Mazahua by repairing the facility and serving the locals.

In 2006, Pastor Schafer took a group of Mt. Hopers to Israel for an 11-day tour of the Holy Land - learning about where Jesus walked and the current culture of the area.
